Supporting Make-A-Wish The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation has never turned away an eligible wish child for financial reasons nor has a child ever been asked to downsize a wish. In an effort to ensure that we continue to meet the accelerating demand for wishes, we are focused on meeting the needs and desires of all donors. Below are descriptions of all available avenues for supporting wishes and links to more detailed information on each program. Cash/Credit Card Donations Donations can be made online. GIVE ONLINE through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America website. To support local wishes, please direct your gift to the Greater Bay Area chapter as the recipient when filling out the online contribution form at the site listed above. Donations can be made directly to: Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation Call us at 415-982-9474 to make a credit card donation over the phone or click here to print out the mail-in gift form. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Earn Money for Make-A-Wish Each Time You Shop! Vehicle Donations Donating your car, truck, motorcycle, boat, trailer, camper or RV (yes, we were given an RV!) is as easy as one phone call. Simply call 1-(866)-600-9474, we’ll handle the rest and you’ll enjoy the exceptional tax advantage of your gift. Help provide the amazing gift of a wish by funding an actual wish through our Adopt-A-Wish program. Nearly 70 percent of all wishes involve air travel and while airlines assist us in accommodating the special needs of our wish children, they do not offer us discounted fares. Donors can help us defray the cost of flying, by donating their miles. Commemorate a milestone by making wishes come true. Consider having your friends and loved ones make donations in lieu of gifts for your birthday, anniversary, confirmation, or bar/bat mitzvah.
Get your school or club involved supporting Make-A-Wish, perhaps even funding an actual wish. We’ll provide all the tools with our Kids for Wish Kids information packet to help you get started.
Did you know that many employers will match your gift to Make-A-Wish? Through the matching gifts program, your donation can be doubled immediately. Many employers also have partnerships with United Way. Check with your human resources department to see if you can have your United Way payroll deduction designated to the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2009 we launched a coin drive for school children to help raise money for wishes. During January through April 2010 schools are again collecting coins to help make other kids' wishes come true.
