February 27 will be a very magical and exhilarating night at the Golden State Warriors. Not just because the Warriors will meet the Detroit Pistons, but also because that night is being celebrated as Make-A-Wish Night at the Warriors!
First, the exhilaration. For the second year in a row, Bay Area Jazzercise aficionados will be doing a routine during half-time. Their challenge – learn a routine, collect pledges for Make-A-Wish and in return participate in the Warriors half-time festivities. Last year 204 Jazzercisers joined in and raised $46,000 for our chapter! They had Oracle Arena rocking. We can’t wait to see what they do this year.
Another part of the evening will be the unveiling of the dedicated Golden State Warriors S.H.A.R.E.S. card. S.H.A.R.E.S. cards are free, require no registration and help raise money for wishes. With your S.H.A.R.E.S. card you can shop at any Lucky, Save Mart, S-Mart Foods or FoodMaxx store, and 3% of your qualified purchases will be donated to the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation. Warriors fans will have the added treat of displaying their loyalty to their team with their specially-designated Warriors S.H.A.R.E.S. cards, which will be handed out on the 27th.
Now, the magic. Ten-year-old wish kid Frankie’s wish to meet the Warriors will come true on Make-A-Wish Night! Frankie’s passion is basketball, and until he started undergoing treatment for lymphoma, he was an avid player. Frankie roots for the Warriors as his neighborhood team, saying “their win is my win.” Although he has seen them play at the Arena, he always sat in the “nosebleed seats.” Frankie’s wish is to meet his team, sit courtside and be in the thick of the action. In true Make-A-Wish fashion, there are sure to be a few surprises in store for Frankie on Make-A-Wish Night at the Warriors.
A special discounted ticket rate of $25 (off the regular $40 price) is being offered to Make-A-Wish supporters. Plus, the Warriors will donate a portion of ticket sales to our chapter! To print a ticket order form click here. All order forms must be received by the Warriors by Friday, February 15 for mail delivery. Otherwise, tickets will be held at Will-Call.
