 S.F. GIANTS WELCOME
WISH FAMILIES

The San Francisco Giants hosted the 9th Annual Giants Night for Make-A-Wish on July 26.  Relief pitcher, Sergio Romo, stopped by to sign autographs and meet each of the children present.  Another friend of Make-A-Wish, Rich Aurilia, a former Giant who now is an announcer on Comcast SportsNet, also made an appearance.  Everyone was treated to Mexican food donated by AT&T Park restaurant Mijita Tacos Des Jardin.  Then the group was invited to stay for the game against the Florida Marlins, thanks to the generosity of the Giants.

The San Francisco Giants have been longtime supporters of Make-A-Wish, both as a team and as individual players, by helping to grant the special wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.  As far back as 1998 S.F. Giants Robb Nen and Rich Aurilia began raising money for the organization.  In 2001, Aurilia and Nen sponsored the 1st Annual Giants Night for Make-A-Wish, when they held a pre-game part and personally purchased game tickets for wish families to attend a home game.  Since then, the Giants took over the tradition of this popular event and now donate the evening's tickets to our wish families.
