As our Youth Board, called the Young Professional Advisory Council Jr. (YPAC Jr.), continues with plans for its first fundraiser for Make-A-Wish, we are now accepting applications for next year’s new members.

Started in 2009 a with 11 incredible young leaders and philanthropists (ages 13-18) from throughout the Bay Area, YPAC Jr. is modeled after our Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC), now in its 6th year of providing leadership and incredible support to Make-A-Wish. Currently YPAC Jr. is planning a high school Battle of the Bands to be held in San Francisco in late summer or early fall. Each member is working on components of the event including venue, band recruitment, publicity and prize solicitation.

Terms for new members will begin in September and will run for a full year, with an option to renew for another year. YPAC Jr. members must commit to attend regular meetings and also be an advocate for Make-A-Wish in the community. Members will receive leadership training and guidance in fundraising and public speaking.

Know of a young person who might be interested in joining?  Anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 can apply.  Deadline to receive completed applications is Wednesday, September 15.  For an application click hereFor more information on YPAC Jr. or the application process, contact Karin Seid at kseid@makewish.org.
