Fundraising Program for School Groups
Our Pocketful of Wishes program is well underway at elementary, middle and high schools throughout our 17-county region. Through a one-month coin drive (school's choice of January, February, March or April), students of all ages are collecting change to help fund magical wishes for other children. One thing we learned from the initial fundraiser in 2009 is that pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters (and some $10's and $20's) add up quickly. In fact, enthusiastic students at one middle school have already raised $1,000 in less than two weeks. For a list of all participating schools, click here. You just might be able to help a school in your neighborhood reach its goal.
A testament to the success of this program is that in March 2009, local students from 34 schools collected over $24,000! Perhaps you can help us raise even more this year. Does your child attend a school in one of our 17 counties that you think might be willing to participate in Pocketful of Wishes? Do you know a teacher, a principal or school administrator who might be able to assist us? Click here for a Registration Form.
In addition to schools, we also received support from local businesses, who placed donation boxes at the entrance to their office or who collected change from employees returning from a coffee break. If you think you might be able to motivate your co-workers, clients or customers to donate their change to Make-A-Wish, please let us know.
