The SFPD Challenge is a community event that invites participants to be creative in this unusual fundraiser. From jumping in the bay to tugging a cable car, this event is as serious or silly as participants like. For the Cable Car Pull people are asked to form their own teams and be creative! It's all in great fun and the important part isn’t whether teams have the fastest time or even move the cable car a few inches – it is a fun gathering that is ALL about FUNdraising!
IN 2009 over 20 teams from the police department, Make-A-Wish corporate partners and even the local office of the FBI were involved. A few of the creative teams were: Team Forty is the New Twenty, Moms on a Mission, I Wish I Was on Another Team and Escape from Alcatraz. It's a day of funny costumes and some crazy antics.
